Winter Songs

Pontiac Enchanté is a year-round classical chamber music concert series based at Venturing Hills Farm in Luskville, Quebec. Established in 2008, the series is hosted in the Venturing Hills Concert Studio—a refurbished hayloft situated above a working horse barn. This unique venue offers an intimate setting for performances, with seating for up to 120 guests, and is nestled against the cliffs of the Eardley Escarpment, adjacent to Gatineau Park .

The transformation of the hayloft into a concert venue utilized reclaimed timber from the Ottawa River, supplied by Log’s End, an Ottawa-based company specializing in retrieving “lost” timber from 19th-century logging operations. This choice reflects the series’ commitment to environmental sustainability, a core value that permeates its operations and programming

Join mezzo-soprano Allyson McHardy and pianist Carson for a powerful and evocative recital that explores the many faces of winter through song. Anchoring the program is the world premiere of Winter Songs, a newly commissioned 20-minute cycle by acclaimed Ottawa-based composer Robert Rival, set to six vivid poems by Canadian poet Marjory Pickthall.
